Why we go with Kitekahunas

Kitekahunas is a kite school in Cape Town, and on this trip their safety team is on the water whenever you kite. They run the guided downwinder from Sunset Beach, and every package is built around their instructors, from a first lesson on the lagoon at Langebaan to coaching for strong riders.

Home for the week is a villa on Sunset Beach with a full kitchen and a pool. The group shares a rental car, and when the wind takes a day off there's plenty else: the Lion's Head hike, other trails, or a drive to the Cape of Good Hope.

Which package fits you

Independent rider (€1,550) is for strong riders who can handle big waves and shore break. Challenger rider (€2,250) is for riders who want to step up: three days with an instructor, 4 hours a day, with radio support until you're confident in the ocean. Zero to Hero (€2,999) starts from nothing: a 5-day beginner course at Langebaan, then your first ocean sessions with radio assistance.

Good to know before you book

Can I choose my dates?

Yes. Pick any 7 days and 6 nights between 30 November and 11 December 2026 and tell us when you sign up.

I've never kited. Is this trip for me?

Yes, that's what the Zero to Hero package is for: a 5-day beginner course with Kitekahunas, 4 hours a day, starting on the lagoon at Langebaan. Once you're riding, we take you into the ocean with radio assistance. Extra days of assistance cost extra.

What isn't included?

Flights, the airport transfer (we can arrange it at extra cost), insurance, and food and drinks.
