About Dakhla Kiteboarding
Dakhla Kiteboarding was founded in 2018 by Nanou, a French kite instructor. It runs as a mobile school, using 4x4 vehicles to reach uncrowded kite spots around the Dakhla lagoon, and offers IKO-registered courses in private and semi-private formats. Its beginner packages combine accommodation at a beachfront guest house with kitesurf instruction.

Dakhla Kiteboarding — common questions
What is the best season for kitesurfing in Dakhla?
The wind season runs from March to mid-October, with the strongest winds in July and August. November to February is less predictable, but windy days still occur.
Can you find kite equipment to buy or rent locally in Dakhla outside the school?
No, visitors should bring all the kitesurf equipment they need with them.
What can you do on days without wind?
Surf lessons, desert excursions by quad, buggy or 4x4, bivouac stays, or spa visits.
How do you get to Dakhla?
Royal Air Maroc flies from Europe via a connection in Casablanca, Transavia runs two direct weekly flights from Paris, Air Arabia flies direct from Marrakech, and there are also direct flights from Madrid. Flying is the easiest way to reach Dakhla — traveling by road takes much longer, since Dakhla is around 1,200 km from Agadir.
What is the climate like in Dakhla?
The weather stays mild year-round, with no extreme heat or cold. Days are warm enough for shorts and a T-shirt, while evenings can call for a sweater or trousers depending on the season. The wind can feel cool, so pack a sweatshirt.
What if I get sick during my stay?
Bring a small first-aid kit with bandages and any personal essentials. Dakhla has many pharmacies that stock most medications without a prescription, and sunscreen is also available locally.
Can I rent gear at Dakhla Kiteboarding without taking a course?
Yes — Dakhla Kiteboarding offers gear rental — full gear at €80/day.
Can you stand up in the water at Dakhla Kiteboarding?
Yes — Dakhla Kiteboarding teaches in an area shallow enough to stand in, which is what makes the first lessons far less intimidating.
