Okinawa & Kumejima Kite Trip

Secret Knots · Okinawa & Kumejima, Japan · 17–24 Oct 2026

Seven nights around Okinawa and the island of Kumejima. We base ourselves in Naha and kite the Okinawa coast, then fly to Kumejima for boat trips to the Hatenohama sandbar and more riding when the wind allows. A licensed safety boat runs every session, and the whole group is advanced, so nobody is waiting on a lesson.

More operators are joining. Learning rather than riding? A kite camp puts lessons, gear and your stay in one price.

Transparency: some listed operators run their website and bookings on kitesurfing.me's software and pay us a commission on bookings made there. You pay the operator's own price, nothing extra, and it doesn't change what we show.

Guided trips: good to know

How is a guided trip different from a camp?

A camp is a week at one school with lessons, gear and a stay. A guided trip moves with a small group and a crew to several spots, often by boat, and is usually for riders who already ride on their own.

What level do I need?

Each trip states its level. The current Secret Knots trip is advanced only: you water-start and ride upwind on your own, and there are no beginner lessons.

Do I bring my own gear?

Usually yes. Each trip lists equipment under “not included” when you need your own, and its luggage allowance for kite bags.

Who runs the trip?

The operator named on each trip. kitesurfing.me lists its own dates, prices and inclusions; you sign up with the operator directly.
