Cumbuco is a wing foil base on Brazil's Ceará coast, a few kilometres north-west of Fortaleza airport. Beginners can learn in the Cauípe lagoon, which Tonic Mag calls the highlight of Cumbuco with flat water for all wingfoilers; Surf magazine adds that the lagoon is not deep enough for foiling everywhere. Along the beach, the wind is usually side-onshore at about 14 to 20 knots and there are swell waves outside the break for riders who want open water. Surf magazine puts the best wind time at September to the end of January.
2 beaches, each with its own character. Pick the one that fits your level; your school will choose the best one for the day's wind and water.

Learn in flat water first and move to open sea once you fly consistently; at high tide the shorebreak makes the beach entry harder, so schools plan around the tide.
The sea averages 27 °C in October, so most people wear no wetsuit (lycra). Source: seatemperature.info, 10-year average.
