Escola de Surf Arpoador offers personalized surf lessons at Posto 7 on Arpoador Beach, directly across from Parque Garota de Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro. Lessons are led by head instructor Rodrigo "Tico" Carvalho, who draws on decades of surfing experience to teach beginners through advanced surfers. Students receive continuous, step-by-step guidance in the water and are never left on their own, in a teaching style the school describes as direct, practical and safe.
- The lead instructor knows the beach, the sea and the local surf culture, with 27 years of surfing experience behind every lesson.
- Personalized attention — lessons are capped at three students per time slot for individualized instruction and feedback.
- Chief instructor also partners with Instituto Favela Radical, a social project for children and teens in Rio's North Zone.
