Kitesoul is a kitesurfing school founded by André that operates from fixed bases in Rio de Janeiro, teaching at Barra da Tijuca on the ocean and at the Lagoa de Araruama lagoon. It offers daily lessons with brand-new equipment, downwind support at both Barra da Tijuca and Araruama, equipment rental, and consulting for gear purchases. Can I fly out of control?
No, the kite has a lot of safety technology, and one of its purposes is preventing accidents like this. Reaching great heights requires a lot of experience from the kitesurfer, so there's no need to worry.
How many hours do I need?
Every student progresses at their own pace, but a 10-hour course is generally recommended, or at least 5 hours as a reference point.
Do I have to do the 5 or 10 hours all at once?
No, students choose the schedule that suits them best.
What happens when the kite falls in the water?
The kite has inflated structures filled with air from the pump, so when it falls it stays afloat, and pulling one line relaunches it easily.
How much does the equipment cost?
Pricing is similar to a car: new equipment sets the reference price, while used equipment prices vary depending on its age and condition.
Is used equipment worth buying?
Yes, as long as the buyer has good knowledge of equipment or gets help from someone who does — Kitesoul offers that consulting service.
