About Lost Lagoon
Lost Lagoon is an Egyptian-Swiss kite, wingfoil and windsurf center located 10 km south of Safaga on Egypt's Red Sea coast, founded by Swiss kitesurfing enthusiast Aline Pfister and Egyptian watersports professional Hamada Youssef. Combining Swiss reliability with Egyptian hospitality, the school teaches kitesurfing, wingfoiling and windsurfing at all levels in a shallow, flat-water lagoon reserved exclusively for its guests, and runs an attached 18-room Surf Lodge…

Does Lost Lagoon offer accommodation for course students?
Lost Lagoon runs its own 18-room Surf Lodge, including four apartments, right next to the water sports center overlooking the lagoon, and can also arrange transfers to nearby hotels such as Coral Sun Beach, Coral Garden Resort and Tui Magic Life.
Does Lost Lagoon offer multi-day courses or packages?
Courses are sold as multi-session packages, from a single session up to five sessions, for kitesurfing, wingfoiling and windsurfing, alongside private and semi-private options.
What happens if a booked trip is cancelled?
Cancellation fees apply on a sliding scale: 25% up to 30 days before arrival, 50% between 29 and 7 days before arrival, and 100% within 7 days of arrival.
Can an experienced rider rent gear without taking a course?
Riders can rent kitesurfing equipment if they hold at least VDWS Level 5 and can ride upwind confidently; wingfoil rental requires being able to sail upwind confidently, and windsurf rental requires at least the VDWS Windsurf Basic Certificate.
Does Lost Lagoon issue a certification on completion?
Students can add the VDWS kite license or VDWS windsurf license to their course for an extra fee.
Can families with children visit the center?
Yes, the shallow water, natural tide pools and shaded areas make Lost Lagoon well suited to families, and children from around 10 years old, depending on physical development, can take kitesurfing lessons, with younger or lighter children given private or semi-private instruction only.
How can I pay on-site?
Payments on-site can be made in cash, preferably in Euros; credit card payments are not currently available.
How do I get to Lost Lagoon from hotels further north in Safaga or Soma Bay?
A shuttle service connects Lost Lagoon with hotels further north, including Mövenpick (about 20 minutes away) and the upper Soma Bay hotels such as Robinson (about 35 minutes).
