About Mundaka Barra Surf
Mundaka Barra Surf is a surf school founded in 2014 by local surfers from the Basque fishing village of Mundaka, long-time host of the WSL Billabong Pro Mundaka. The school teaches surf courses for children and adults at every level, from beginner lessons to technification training for surfers looking to refine their style and performance. Its coaches are qualified surf instructors, most holding EHSF or ISA surf-coaching certifications.

Where do surf classes take place?
Beginner classes are held at Playa de Laida-Mundaka, advanced classes at Mundaka-Txorro beach, and high-level/technification classes at La Barra beach in Mundaka.
When do classes run?
Classes run around low tide, with two sessions a day. Since low tide shifts daily, the schedule changes too, running mornings one week and afternoons the next.
What should I bring to class?
Just a towel, flip-flops and a swimsuit. The school provides a clean, dry wetsuit and the rest of the equipment for every class.
What is the booking and cancellation policy?
Bookings need at least 24 hours' notice and a 20% deposit, with the remaining 80% paid by card after the activity. Cancellations made more than 7 days ahead, or classes cancelled by the school for bad weather, are refunded in full; cancellations inside 7 days or no-shows are not.
Where can I park in Mundaka?
Summer parking in Mundaka is limited, so the school recommends arriving by public transport on the Euskotren train or Bizkaibus bus.
