About Alamar Salinas Surf House
Alamar Salinas Surf House occupies a restored 1880 indiano-era mansion in Salinas, Asturias, combining a surf school with boutique bed-and-breakfast accommodation just steps from the beach. The school teaches surfers of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced riders, offering both group and private lessons. Every lesson is built around Alamar's community-driven "Surf & Love" philosophy and includes board, wetsuit and insurance.

Is there a minimum age for surf lessons?
No, lessons welcome students of all ages, from children to adults.
What should I bring to a lesson?
Just swimwear, a towel, flip-flops and sunscreen - board, wetsuit and insurance are provided.
Can I rent equipment without booking a lesson?
Yes, surfboards and wetsuits can be rented separately by the day or half-day.
Are private lessons available?
Yes, alongside group classes, private lessons are offered on request.
How long does a surf lesson last?
Each lesson lasts two hours: the first twenty minutes are a warm-up and beach briefing on positioning and safety, with the rest of the time spent surfing in the water.
Is Salinas beach good for surfing?
Salinas is known as Spain's 'City of Surf': the beach has one of the highest wave frequencies in northern Spain and an orientation that keeps it breaking throughout the summer, generally with good wind conditions.
