Berg Surfers is a workers' co-operative of local surf coaches from Vrygrond Township and the surrounding Muizenberg community, run as part of the Local Surf Lounge Academy. The co-operative teaches surfing to children and adults of all levels, and profits after coaching rates are reinvested into the co-op and the academy that supports local youth.
