Buena Vista Kiteboarding is a kiteboarding, winging and foilboarding school based in Los Barriles on Mexico's Sea of Cortez. Founded by Los Barriles native Mac Skaggs, who has 15 years of kiteboarding instruction experience, the school offers exclusively private, one-on-one lessons customized to each student's level and goals.

What happens if there's no wind during my lesson?
Only the lessons actually taken are charged, and the school will try to reschedule the lesson or offer a no-wind activity instead.
Is there a minimum age or size for kids to start?
Kids can typically start around 80 lbs for safety reasons, using the beginner introductory course.
What equipment is provided for lessons?
Kites, boards and bars/lines are Duotone, while harnesses and wetsuits are Ion; students should bring their own sunglasses, sun hat, water, sunscreen, swimwear and towel.
How is payment handled?
Payment is due at the end of the lesson or rental package and can be made in Mexican pesos, US cash, local cards, or foreign Visa/Mastercard with a small fee.
What happens if it's too windy for a lesson?
Lessons cancelled because of high winds are not charged.
How do I book a lesson?
Lessons can be booked online or by phone, and reservations are encouraged, especially from Thanksgiving through New Year's; walk-ins are welcome when space is available.
Is rental equipment insured?
No, rental equipment isn't insured and the renter is responsible for any damage or repairs.
