FAQ

Cabarete Surf Camp — common questions

Do I need previous experience, and is there an age limit?

No previous surfing or kitesurfing experience is required, and there is no upper age limit, but riders must be at least six years old to take a class.

How long does it take to learn to surf?

Most beginners are able to stand up on the board on their first day, and a 3-day course is enough to start building on that.

Do I need a wetsuit?

No wetsuit is needed because the water stays warm year-round; rash guards and surf shoes are provided instead.

Can I combine surfing and kitesurfing?

Yes, mornings are typically used for surf lessons and afternoons for kitesurfing when wind conditions allow.

How do I pay?

Credit cards are not accepted; payment is made in cash, in US dollars or Dominican pesos, upon arrival.

Can children learn at Cabarete Surf Camp?

Cabarete Surf Camp takes students from age 6.
