About ExotiKite Kiteboarding
Founded in 1998 by husband-and-wife team Ian Sanders and Megan O'Leary, ExotiKite was the first dedicated kiteboarding school in Los Barriles, established at the inception of the sport in the region. The family-run school has operated on the East Cape for more than two decades and now also offers wing foiling, eFoil, surfing and SUP lessons alongside kiteboarding.

What do I need to sign up?
Complete an online waiver and provide a credit card on file.
When can my kids learn to kite?
Lessons typically start around age 10 and 80+ lbs; children should be strong swimmers and comfortable in ocean water.
Do I have to make a reservation or can I just show up?
Reservations are recommended. Drop-ins can often be scheduled within a few days, but advance booking is essential during peak season, December 15 to February 1.
Is there a cancellation policy?
A late fee of 50% of the lesson price applies if 48 hours' notice is not given.
What if there is no wind during my lesson?
If there is no wind during a scheduled lesson, no charge applies, and any prepaid unused hours are refunded.
What payment methods are accepted?
Cash, check, Venmo and credit card are accepted. Credit card payments are subject to Mexican sales tax, and unpaid balances are charged after 7 days.
