About Isla Kite Center
Isla Kite Center was founded in 2023 on Ilha do Guajirú by head instructor Dilson, alongside co-founders Carol and Hugo. The school specializes in one-to-one kitesurf and wingfoil lessons using Naish equipment on a flat, shallow-water lagoon, and also organizes guided downwind expeditions along the Ceará coast. Lessons are taught in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

What is the minimum age to try kitesurfing here?
The minimum age is 10, and under-18s must be accompanied by a guardian. There is no maximum age.
Do I need previous experience?
No previous experience is needed. Complete beginners are welcome and typically progress to independence within 10 to 15 hours.
Is the water safe for beginners?
Yes. The lagoon is shallow enough to stand in while learning, and an instructor stays in the water with students before coaching switches to radio.
Can I get a discount on accommodation?

What downwind routes are available?
Guided downwind routes run from 10 to 80 km along spots such as Icaraizinho, Barra Grande and Tatajuba, with a technical briefing, radio communication and a local guide included. Advanced expeditions of up to 200 km, such as Barra Grande to Atins or the Delta do Parnaíba, are also available for experienced riders.
