How long does it take to learn kitesurfing?
Most students need 6 to 9 hours of instruction to safely ride the board over their first distance, ideally spread across 2 to 3 consecutive training days.
Is kitesurfing safe?
Kitesurfing is safe when the rules are known, observed, and executed. Lessons cover three backup systems, pre-flight checks, and respecting other water users.
What should I bring to my lesson?
Bring a rash guard, sunscreen, sunglasses with a retention strap, a towel, water, and snacks. The school provides all necessary kite equipment and safety gear.
What do I need to rent equipment without taking a course?
Renters must be able to independently start, land, relaunch, body-drag, maintain altitude, recover the board, and follow right-of-way rules. Rental includes kite, bar, and board; a helmet and vest are recommended.
Is instruction covered by insurance?
Instruction takes place at the participant's own risk. Participants sign a waiver and are advised to carry personal accident insurance covering kitesurfing.
What is included with kite equipment rental?
Rental includes the kite (sized to wind and rider), board, harness, and bar. Impact vests and helmets are generally not included, and lycra may be available on request.
How does the kite shuttle work?
Be on time, as the departure time is sent via WhatsApp, and have all your gear packed. Bring sun protection, water, and snacks; for downwinders, attend the briefing and use a waterproof phone case.
How is lesson time counted?
Travel time does not count. Lesson time starts with a spot, environment, and activity analysis and preparing the kite and bar together, and ends once the gear is properly packed away.
