Pura Vida Mallorca — common questions
Do you still teach kitesurfing in Alcúdia?
No. We have stopped kitesurf lessons and kite rental, so please do not book expecting them. What we still do on the kite side is the shop — new and second-hand kite equipment — and the repair centre, where we fix canopies, bladders, seams and boards in-house, including gear you bought somewhere else. If you want to learn to fly something on the water, wingfoil is our main course and the shortest way in.
What does a wingfoil course cost and how long does it take?
Shared lessons (small group): €149 per person for a 2-hour session, €390 for a 6-hour course, €640 for 10 hours, €860 for 14 hours. Private, one instructor to one rider: €249 for 2 hours, €690 for 6, €1,050 for 10, €1,450 for 14. All equipment is included. Most people get up on the foil somewhere in the 6 to 10 hour range — the flat, shallow water in the Bay of Alcúdia is a big part of why.
What are eFoil and JetSurf, and do I need wind?
Neither needs wind or waves. An eFoil is an electric hydrofoil board: you sit, then kneel, then stand, and most people are riding within the first hour. €299 for one board for an hour, €549 for two hours; two boards together are €549 for an hour and €999 for two. JetSurf is a motorised surfboard: €199 for one board for an hour, €349 for two hours; two boards €349 and €599. Both are run with an instructor and are the answer to a glassy, windless day.
What can I rent, and what does it cost?
Wingfoil: full set €49 per hour and €159 per day, board and foil €39 / €120, wing alone €39 / €79, board alone €29 / €69, foil alone €29 / €69. Stand up paddle: board and paddle €16 for an hour, €29 for two, €39 for four, €49 a day, €199 a week, €349 for a fortnight. Extras: wetsuit €15 per hour or €29 a day, buoyancy vest €8 / €20, helmet €5 / €15. Rates drop for every extra day.
What are the conditions like in the Bay of Alcúdia?
It is a wide bay on the north coast, shallow and flat, protected from most swell — you can stand up across a large part of the learning area, which is why it works so well for a first wingfoil session. In summer a thermal sea breeze builds through the afternoon; mornings are usually glassy, which is when eFoil, JetSurf and SUP tours run best. There is a live webcam and wind reading for the spot on our website, so you can look before you drive up.
Do you repair boards, kites, wings and sails?
Yes — that is one of the things we are known for. Our workshop in Alcúdia repairs kite and wing canopies, bladders, seams and leading edges, sail repairs, and board and foil damage, in-house rather than shipped off the island. We work on gear bought anywhere, not only what we sell.

Our shop, school and repair workshop are at Avinguda Marina 18, 07400 Alcúdia, in the north of Mallorca.
