About René Egli Fuerteventura
Founded in 1984 by René Egli, the center began as a small windsurf operation with just eight boards and has grown into one of the world's largest wind- and kitesurfing schools. It holds the exclusive teaching license for the entire Sotavento lagoon and organized Fuerteventura's first Kite World Cup in 2001. Today it runs both windsurf and kite schools alongside equipment rental, a megastore, and holiday packages.

What is the minimum age for kitesurf lessons?
The minimum age is 15 years old, with a minimum body weight of 50 kg.
Do I need a wetsuit?
Not usually — water temperatures range from about 19°C in winter to 23°C in late summer, so a long wetsuit can safely be left at home.
Is the lagoon suitable for beginners?
Yes. The shallow, tidal lagoon at Playa Sotavento is calm and wave-free, giving beginners a safe, comfortable teaching environment.
What happens if I need to be rescued during a lesson?
Lifeguards monitor the water closely and can launch an immediate rescue using jet skis; a €100 fee may apply for retrieving equipment from riders below the required skill level.
Can lessons be booked online in advance?
Yes, lessons can be booked online, and advance bookings qualify for lower pre-booking rates than the on-site walk-in prices.
Are multi-day kiteboarding camps available?
