About SA Kitesurf

Founded in 2013, SA Kitesurf is an IKO-certified kiteboarding school teaching lessons at several spots around Cape Town, including Bloubergstrand, Big Bay, Muizenberg and the Shark Bay lagoon at Langebaan. The school offers private and group courses ranging from a one-day discovery lesson through to a five-day confidence-building package, plus a refresher lesson for intermediate riders.

How many lessons does it take to start riding?

Most students achieve their first water starts within three lessons, and five lessons are recommended to build confidence and ride independently.

What is included in a lesson?

Kites, boards, helmets, harnesses, floatation vests and wetsuits are all provided; students only need to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and water.

Is there a minimum age for lessons?

Riders must be at least 12 years old and able to swim.
