About Wave Soul Retreats
Wave Soul Retreats is a surf, kitesurf and yoga retreat based in Cabarete on the Dominican Republic's north shore, near Playa Encuentro. The school runs surf lessons with ISA-certified instructors and kitesurf lessons with IKO-certified instructors, alongside all-inclusive surf and kite camps and retreats that combine lodging, meals, lessons and yoga.

Guests range from 18 to 55 years old, though most who book are between 25 and 35.
Is it OK to come solo?
Yes, solo travelers find the trip ideal since everything is organized to learn kiteboarding or surfing and meet new people.
Do I need to be strong and fit?
Surfing and kiteboarding are mainly technical sports that require concentration more than strength. Guests aged 8 to 69 have been taught, though swimming ability is necessary.
Do I need previous experience?
No prior experience is needed; hundreds of guests have been taught starting from zero.
Is this only for beginners?
No, surfing and kiteboarding are offered for all levels and skills.
Is kiteboarding dangerous?
Kiteboarding is not dangerous when learned with a certified kiteboarding instructor.
How long does it take to learn kitesurfing?
