Dénia is rideable almost all year, with two seasons. From April to September a thermal wind of about 12 to 20 knots builds in the afternoon and lasts until sunset. From November to March the north-west wind takes over and reaches up to 25 knots. The months in between depend on the weather of the day.

The school we list in Dénia, KS Kitesurf Wingfoil Center, gives the thermal season as April to October on its blog and teaches all year. We found no source with a monthly count of windy days for Dénia, so we do not rank individual months.

Which beach for which level

  • Les Deveses (north coast): where beginners usually start, with a school and a rental shop on the beach; popular with the levante.
  • Playa dels Molins (Punta Molins): busier in winter when the strong north-west wind blows; the beach where KS Kitesurf Wingfoil Center is based.
  • Playa Escollera Norte (north breakwater): a small bay with flat water behind the piers, for riders with some experience; it has hosted the Spanish cup and championship.

The details, rules and travel information are in our Dénia kite spot guide.
