Kitesurfing in Spain: How Course Prices Vary by Region
We broke our Spain-wide kitesurf pricing data down by region and city. Tarifa and the Canary Islands average the same nationally — but Tarifa itself runs noticeably pricier than Corralejo, its Canary Islands counterpart.
A beginner kitesurf course in Spain averages €192, based on the 49 schools — out of 319 we've indexed — that publish a specific beginner-course price. That national figure hides real regional variation: Andalusia and the Canary Islands both average around €205, but the two biggest individual spots inside them, Tarifa and Corralejo, don't match each other at all.

Andalusia and the Canary Islands land on the exact same average, but the shape of the data is different. Andalusia's prices cluster fairly tightly around its median (€190, close to the €205 average). The Canary Islands' median is €55 lower than its average — a sign the region has both some of the cheapest courses in Spain and one outlier near €699 pulling the average up. Catalonia's €151 average comes from only 5 priced schools, too small a sample to call a genuinely cheaper region yet.
Tarifa vs. Corralejo: the two flagship spots
Tarifa, Europe's biggest kitesurf hub by school count, runs pricier than both the Spain-wide average and its own Andalusia region — its median course costs €225 against Andalusia's regional median of €190. Corralejo runs the opposite way: at €192 average it actually undercuts the Canary Islands region it belongs to, whose €699 outlier sits elsewhere on the islands. If you're comparing the two most obvious Spanish kite destinations on price alone, Corralejo currently comes out cheaper — Tarifa's premium looks more tied to the town itself than to being in a pricier region generally.
Where the sample gets too thin to trust
- Murcia — 3 schools with a listed beginner-course price, €50–€200 range. Too few to call a regional average.
- Valencian Community — 3 schools, €80–€150 range. Same caveat.
- Galicia — 2 schools, €110–€150 range.
- Balearic Islands — 1 school at €399. Not an average at all, just the one price we have.
Every number above comes straight from a school's own published price list, converted with the same currency and plausibility rules /compare uses — we don't blend in schools that haven't published a price, and we don't call a 2- or 3-school region "cheap" or "expensive" just because that's all the data we currently have.
Regional averages are a starting point for planning a trip, not a quote for your specific course. Compare the real schools at Tarifa, Corralejo, or any other Spanish spot side by side before booking.
Prices are the cheapest published kitesurfing beginner (or taster, where no beginner course is listed) course per school, in EUR, using the same method as /compare and our kitesurf-course-cost article. Pulled directly from the 319 published Spanish schools we'd indexed as of 26 August 2026 — 49 of them list a specific beginner-course price. Regions and cities with fewer than 3 priced schools are noted but not treated as a reliable average.
