Wing Foiling in Dakhla: Learning on the Lagoon, Lessons and Prices
Why Dakhla's lagoon suits a first wing foil course, how lessons work and what two local schools charge, from €80 for 2 hours in a group.
Dakhla's lagoon works for wing foiling for the same reasons it works for kiting: a steady wind, flat water and a lot of space. Lessons start in shallow water, where you learn to handle the wing and to stand on the board before the foil lifts you off the water.
How a lesson works
Both schools pick you up and drive you by 4x4 to the lagoon spot that suits the day's wind and tide. The main teaching zone, around PK20 to PK25, is flat and shallow, waist-deep for 200 m or more in places, with a soft sand bottom. The wind is strongest and gustiest from June to August, so beginners often find the shoulder months gentler. KiteResorts teaches with radio communication between instructor and student and with IKO-certified instructors.
